Awkwafina
Awkwafina is an American performer and actor who started her career through innovative raps which addressed gender and ethnic identities from a a boldly comic perspective. Then she branched out into Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her very first musical experience. She was a trumpet player. Jazz, classical and hip-hop training began as she was just a teenager. While in the school, she focused on women's studies and journalism. She was also a student of Mandarin for a while in Beijing. When she graduated, she started to pursue music as her main focus. Following her viral success via the Internet the My Vag song My Vag was a reaction to the song of Mickey Avalon's My Dick. It eventually was included on her debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained viral hits including body-positive Queef & winking home tour NYC Bitche$1. The single that debuted was is directly linked to the album Awkwafinas NYC, her travel guide for 2015. The singer decided to make acting careers after having completed her two previous projects, as an author and musician. Alongside early shows such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in films like Neighbors as well as Storks. In 2018 she landed breakthrough roles in a handful of high-profile movies like Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released by In Fina We Trust in June of the year.
